I am teaching myself the very basics of design using Affinity Designer - and I haven't been able to figure out how to create a single shape from multiple vectors. For instance, if I am creating a basic outline of a car and need to start and stop lines - when I use жмите сюда join lines tool it doesn't join two unrelated lines together - rather it completes the "circle" path of affinity designer ipad join lines free line only.

If I use the join shapes tool it completes all the unconnected lines, and fills in those spaces too - so I lose the shape I am after. AD's help index is not very helpful to someone with my near non-existent skills - so I'd be thrilled if someone on this forum can help. Hope that's what ippad after I think what you are looking for is the compound. I was trying to create an object out of 2 shapes where the inner shape forms a hole. So I used the complement compound The square with the circle and the intersection is missing. Just to clarify jjoin bit, I think you mean this: Say aaffinity had a uoin with 3 nodes, a,b, and c, with a and c being the endpoint of the nodes.

You wish to attach another another line with two nodes d and e. You wish to connect the nodes b and e. As of right now, I can't seem to find functionality of the program where it attaches two unrelated lines that AREN'T endpoints of each line. I think the Pen module Affinity designed assumes you are always wanting to produce an endpoint to endpoint shape. I would love to see the ability здесь the pen to create complex shapes that affinity designer ipad join lines free much less dependent on endpoint snapping.

You can select multiple objects by holding the Shift key while clicking on them, or by clicking and dragging a selection around them. This is the point where the curves will be joined. Do not worry if there is a gap between them — it will be filled in automatically. You can verify that you have the correct nodes selected by their fill color. Selected nodes will be blue in color. All you have to do now to join the curves together is click the Join Curves button in the tool settings menu towards the top of your screen:.

If you hover your cursor over each button, a label will populate telling you what they do. Once you click that button, the two nodes will be joined, and what was once two separate curves is now a single, combined curve:. If you need that line to be curved, or to follow a specific contour, then you can do so clicking and dragging the line to curve it, and by using the adjustment handles to adjust it further. Once you are finished drawing those shapes you can then edit the nodes individually to fine tune your work into a clean, precise drawing.

The Pen Tool is the quintessential tool for drawing shapes and paths in vector design applications, such as Affinity Designer. The Pen Tool allows you to draw virtually anything, but it comes with a bit of a learning curve. It will take some practice and patience to get a proper feel for how this tool works. To start, tap on your canvas once to place a point.

Then, tap again to place another point. If done correctly, a line should be drawn between the two points. As you continue to add points, the shape will be drawn between them accordingly:. Drawing like this will create straight lines and corner nodes.

You can draw curved lines by holding the tap and swiping when adding your points:. Once you are finished drawing your shape, you can close the path by tapping on the first node that you placed. You will now have a shape that can be filled with color, used as a clipping mask , for Boolean operations, or any other way in which you would use shapes in Affinity Designer:.
